36 - What does it mean to make an impact on society?

To make an impact on the world one must have their profession down. This means knowing exactly what it is you want to do professionally. Once you know what it is you want to do, do it. Go seek it. It could be running a car company like Tesla. Design, build, and sell cars. It could be running Apple. Design, build, and sell Apple computers for the public. By figuring out what it is you want to do, you can begin making your impact on the world. The hard part isn't doing the designing, building, or selling. The hard part is figuring out what it is that interests you. By figuring this out you can then commit to it. Do it for a long period of time. By doing this for a prolonged period of time you can develop a legacy in your society. This legacy will allow you to be remembered for what you have done. It could be for making a company. It could be for making music or having some type of creative career. Whatever it may be, that is how you create an impact on the world.

Focus your time on figuring out whatever your thing is. If it's cars, computers, something creative. That's the hard part. Once you figure out what you are going to stick to for the next 30 or 40 years, then it's nearly set in stone. It's "written in the stars" as my friends like to say.
